Controls Engineer:
You’ll work with advanced technologies across VAD, OVD, AVD, PCVD processes for fiber optic manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Design, maintain, and improve PLC, HMI, SCADA, and other control systems supporting fiber manufacturing operations.
- Lead controls projects for continuous improvement, cost reduction and support capital projects from concept through implementation.
- Maintain control standards, backups, change management, and documentation.
- Monitor and optimize critical draw‑tower parameters such as tension, diameter control, coating application, curing performance, and line speed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing automation, controls engineering, or process engineering.
- Experience with optical fiber manufacturing (VAD, OVD, AVD, PCVD, preform, or draw) is a major plus.
- Advanced PLC programming skills (Schneider, Siemens, or equivalent).
- Familiarity with SPC, process capability, and manufacturing quality systems.
