Controls Engineer will manage and monitor all systems and infrastructure for this wire and cable manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain an elevated level of knowledge of wire and cable equipment and processes.
  • Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
  • Install, configure, evaluate and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
  • Develop, write, and de-bug control logic for machine control, make design modifications and improvements to complex electrical, electronic, and mechanical equipment. 
  • Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
  • Carefully and thoroughly document all control logic work.  Keep existing documentation current and accessible to other team members. 
  • Prepare reports and provide feedback to management as required improving operations and machining reliability.
  • Manage all assigned projects which include cost estimations, designs, specifications, approvals, procurement, installation, startup, cost control, safety and overall implementation to achieve Plant and organizational objectives.
  • Develop and maintain control system and electrical drawings for the plant manufacturing systems.
  • Analyze and interpret electrical schematics to the component level as required to make repairs and return equipment to operation.
  • Utilize programming devices to analyze PLC programs for failures or improvements. 
  • Maintain detailed records of critical process variables and ensure that programs are logical and as comprehensible as possible.
  • Provide direction to maintenance associates in troubleshooting, repair, and program AC/DC drive systems. 
  • Must be able to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical literature
  • Provide basic to advanced training to process engineers, maintenance associates and other personnel as needed.
Qualifications:
  • BS/MS - Computer Science, Engineering or related degree.
  • 5-10 years maintaining industrial application software and control systems.
  • PLC programming. Wonderware is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of motor controls and drives (AC, DC and VFD) PLC and relay-based systems.
  • Create/read/edit PID drawings.
